 Submission Guidelines for Michigan Water Works News (WWN)

We welcome contributions from members and partners! Please review the following guidelines before submitting your article or materials:

Content
  • Submissions must be relevant to the water sector, the Michigan Section, or AWWA.

  • Articles may cover any aspect of the water cycle or water supply operations.

  • When possible, please include Michigan-specific examples or perspectives.

Format and Length
  • Articles should be no longer than two pages, including graphics (approximately 500 words maximum).

  • Avoid special or decorative formatting.

  • Do not send PDF files—submit text as a Word document or in the body of your email.

Graphics and Visuals
  • Submit high-resolution images (JPG format, 300 dpi or higher).

  • Include a caption for each image in the article body, correlating each caption with its file name.

Attribution
  • Include a byline for each author: first name, last name, title, and company/organization.

Commercial Content
  • Articles should not be promotional in nature.

  • Any material deemed overly commercial by the review committee will be referred to the Advertising Manager for consideration as a paid advertisement.
